I see this in video stores all the time and, if I’m to believe the promise scrawled across the cover, it’s Michael Crawford as I’ve never seen him before (does that mean he isn’t a completely sefl-indulgent ham?).
SOME MOTHERS DO 'AVE 'EM
O.K., so tell me what exactly do some mothers 'ave?
I think this is a case of ‘If you have to ask you’ll never understand’, but it’s basicly an expression similar to saying 'You don’t half pick ‘em’ when saying someone always chooses bad girlfriends/boyfriends.
They 'ave “one”, as in “Gor, 'e’s a right one, inne?”.
By the way, if you were ever considering buying this garbage, do yourself a favour and just don’t.
Clips of this nonsense still show up on British TV with alarming frequency; one particularly cringeworthy scene of Mr Crawford rollerskating beneath an 18-wheeler (through the gap between sets of wheels) springs to mind.
Crawford’s stunts. Not exactly awe inspiring but unusual in that he did them himself.
Rotten comedy. Basically it’s a single joke series; a grown man with the intellect and innocence of a child. For today’s tastes it would be dangerously close to being un-PC against the learning disabled.
Irritating catch phrases that still get imitated by irritating people.
I quite enjoy it. It’s one of those sitcoms that makes you cringe, but cant help watching. And it’s good that he did his own stunts. Many of them look pretty dangerous.
