British TV series with the most eye candy?

The 2015 remake is on Masterpiece on PBS, Sunday nights at 9pm. The next episode to air is the fourth of eight.

I certainly agree with that! But I’m glad they remade the series. There are probably a dozen books if they wanted to go on for years.

FYI the original Poldark, Robin Ellis, played Rev. Halse (the judge in last episode). I don’t know if he’ll be doing any other episodes. He is still IRL a fine looking man.

I was gobsmacked when I realized that Mrs Barnaby in the original Midsomer Murders was played by the same actress who played Morwenna Chynoweth in Poldark.

Back in the '70s, I’d melt every time she came on screen! :o

If you’ll allow Australian TV, check out Wonderland. Everyone is insanely gorgeous, male and female*, younger and older, lots of surfer men with no shirts on and the locations are stellar.

*Except the actress who plays Sasha, but the character is a total cow anyway so no loss.

I’m seeing a theme of Summer TV here. Perhaps it’s not the season for the most intellectually stimulating works dealing with Serious History or Serious Issues of Today–but shows featuring pretty people & good production values. (The Jewel In The Crown definitely has depth but the surface is quite attractive.)

So I’d say Australian can count–if it lets me recommend Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, streaming on Netflix. She’s a rich & beautiful semi-amateur detective fond of glamorous 1920’s attire. Beyond a certain dashing Detective Inspector, she also amuses herself with a string of attractive fellows…

I hate Gwen so much. I hated that entire show because of Gwen and her damn nosy ways.

SPOILERS!!!
But I’ll see if I can add this.

I saw an interview with her well after the show was over; she said that, when she was making the rounds of interviews when the series was first on, they’d ask her what the show was about: “I play a character who dresses up in black leather and beats men up.”

Worked for me.

Remember this episode? :dubious:

You monster.

There’s enough eye candy for me in this just-released promotional photo.

: fans self :

Although that mustache is redonkulous.

Mary likes it.

I opened the thread just to mention Hollyoaks. It used to be on at a time when there was nothing else I wanted to watch, but I didn’t care to listen to the soapy script, so I’d put some music on, get some work done, and just glance at the screen occasionally :stuck_out_tongue:

Absolutely, and the even bigger joke was that they got Helena Bonham-Carter to voice that character.

Aardman animations tend to have lots of little jokes like that. I like to think I’m the only person who noticed -and got the joke - that, in Chicken Run, the one hen that ended up “on holiday” for not laying enough eggs was called Edwina* (don’t worry, you’re not expected to, it’s a purely parochial thing, but Uncle Google may help explain it all).

*Absolutely no connection with “totty” at all, unless you’re a Tory of a certain age and somewhat restricted outlook.

Including one former PM

Edwina Currie?

Thus far and no Doctor Who? So many gorgeous women, and I gather the men weren’t bad if you like that sort of thing.

My favorite has always been Leela:

Captain Jack Harkness makes me weak in the knees. And it takes a lot for an American to do that to me on British telly, with goodlooking Brits all over the place.

But I do so love David Tennant.
