20 posts and no mention of Mary Ure ? !!! If “Where Eagles Dare” wasn’t a great enough movie for 1) the setting (castle on a mountain top), 2) the action (dynamite galore), 3) Clint two-machine-guns-blazing-while-lobbing-back-hand-grenades Eastwood, surely Mary Ure puts it well into the “great” category !
Aside from always needing to put on warm clothing to watch it (that scene where they drop into the river and then crawl up the snowy bank just kills me. And riding on the top of the tram car at night - can you say “wind chill factor” ?), I can’t resist watching this when it comes on (thank god for TBS and TNT).
