By all means, see your doctor. With a broken rib, there’s a risk of pneumo-thorax, which is serious business. When I had it, I spent 6 days in the hospital.
Been there, done that. Whatever you do, don’t laugh.
So a bear and a rabbit are taking a dump near each other.
The bear asks “Do you ever have trouble with shit sticking to your fur?”
The rabbit replies “No, never.”
So the bear grabs the rabbit, wipes his ass with him, and pitches him in the bushes!
Been there, done that. Hurts like hell twice over.
Don’t tape your chest up, although you should already know that. See a doctor/ER for more advice.
If this is your 4th time then you know it’s going to hurt for awhile.
Get some X-rays at the ER so we all know you aren’t going to die on us.
I can’t afford to come to over and feed you soup so let us know how you are doing.
Well, one thought is: “you need to come up with a better hobby!” (something I say to myself, considering my matched pair of broken elbows and frequent sprained ankles).
Actually though: if this does happen so often, either look at whatever extreme sport is causing it, and reconsider that sport! or discuss with a doctor whether your bones are more brittle than average.
Did they give you any pain meds?
As you already know, not a lot to actually do about it. Don’t laugh, or sneeze, or breathe deep.
I had 12 broken at one time a couple years ago (even got some youtube fame), along with a couple of fractured vertebrae. Already on a bunch of meds for other back issues, didn’t help the ribs AT ALL.
To reiterate the above, I asked Mr. Horseshoe what to post here, since he’s broken a few ribs in the past and was just in a car wreck so bad he thought he broke a few more:
So, OP - you on anything? Seen a dr. yet?
@ jrtexgunner: Twelve?!? Did you have any left? Also: YouTube link, pls?
