I go to properties and the tabs read “General - Sharing - Ports - Advanced - Color Management - Talcabealitas”
Husband installed a new Brother laser printer about a week ago. I’ve previously printed from both laptop and the “big computer” without any problems. Just now I wanted to check something with the paper before printing from the old ACER laptop and the window opened up in this strange new language … even odder at the foot of the window it still says “cancel ok help” in English.
The contents page of “help” looks like this :
A Brother HL-2030/2040/2070N sorozat Nyomtató Meghajtó Segítség Tartalma
Segítség témák
Alap beállítás
Haladó beállítások
Tálcabeállítás
Internet támogatás

Two questions then 1 - what language is it ? Swedish ? Turkish ? 2 How can I get it back into English ? Thanks.
According to this site, that’s Hungarian.
EDIT: Take that with a grain of salt. I just tried a couple of other phrases at that site, and it doesn’t seem too smart.
Try searching the manufacturer’s website for a menu tree, or maybe they have a PDF of the owner’s manual in Hungarian that you can line up on screen with the English version to see where in the menu the language controls* are and what the words look like.
*Better bet: find the control that resets to factory defaults.
Quick response - quick thinking, thanks.
Most printers, if you turn them off, then turn them back on while holding the big green OK button (or whatever color it is) will reset to factory defaults. You might try that.
Googling the phrase “Segítség témák” seems to suggest it’s Hungarian, too–as does “Tálcabeállítás,” one of the results for which is a Brother page.
Cheers I’ll give it a go over the weekend.
