BSA allegedly inflates rolls to obtain $$$

Am I the only one that finds honest is noticeably missing from this list?

In fairness, there is “trustworthy”

For what it’s worth, “cheerful” is the missing quality.

Aww, shucks. We need a dig your foot in the dirt with red cheeks smiley. Seriously, thank you. Don’t tell Ginger, though, she’ll want an increase in her allowance and maybe bathroom privileges or something.

In all fairness to the BSA, back when I went from Cub to Life scout, the adults in my own little troop decided that if the issue ever came up, they would welcome a gay man as a leader in the troop.

The real shock came to me when I realized that there are more than 1000 troops and that troop numbers were repeated, hence my own troop was not a unique a delicate snowflake. Bastards.

I’m an Eagle Scout. I still don’t know what to do, though really, it doesn’t much come up. I don’t put it on my resume, but there’s not a lot else I could do that would make any difference since I have no active involvement with the BSA to end.

Not bad for dragging up 20 year old memories, though.

Right?
Right?

I can’t believe I missed “cheerful”. I knew there was one missing.

I looked into it, and it could be that these “Does” were part of the council’s “Learning for Life” programs, which are often partnerships with schools. In some cases, the school just tells the council that there are, say, 200 kids enrolled in the program. If the council doesnt have info for all the kids, sometimes a District Executive will fill in names for the missing spots when they are required to file their paperwork listing every member for such things as United Way filings. The numerous “Does” could be a situation like this, where the kids real names were never put in, or if the school never got as many kids enrolled in the program as they expected, the Council’s paperwork was never updated to reflect that.

Honestly, I didn’t know the missing one off the top of my head.

I did know there was one missing from the beginning because for whatever anal geek reason, I knew there was 12, counted the listed ones and saw 11. I couldn’t recall the missing one, but “honest” didn’t sound right, so I googled.

I haven’t said it since I was a boy scout 25 (ouch!) years ago. I’m with cub scouts currently, and things there are a bit simpler.
