Buderim Ginger Brew (and ginger beers you like)

I just came across a recipe in a new cookbook. It makes six gallons. I think I’ll look for a smaller recipe! (Read: I’ll try StinkyBurrito’s link.) Roomie says I can use some of his beer bottles.

I wish my recipe was for six gallons. I tear through the whole bottle in a few hours.

I haven’t been able to find a website for the manufacturer, but for those not ambitious enough to brew their own, check out Natural Brew’s Outrageous Ginger Ale (probably the same Outrageous Brew Bumbazine mentioned). It’s spicy with a nice bite, not too sweet. I’m not a fan of Reed’s (is it just me, or does it taste like it has pineapple juice in it?), and Vernor’s/Canada Dry are way too watered down and sugary for my taste.

I found some Vernors. It did not live up to my ancient memory of it. Weak.

Reeds is the only oned I’ve had. I like all kinds. My wife has made some, but it was underwhelming. I think the exract was inferior.

I agree. As a kid I thought this stuff was ungodly strong. Now…pisswater. I’m sipping a Bundaberg right now and enjoying every bite.
