Buffalo Hunter's Footwear

I need to know what kind of shoe/boot did the typical American plains buffalo hunter of the late 1800’s wear. Leftover civil war boots? Indian moccasins?

Also, how about pants? Jeans? Chaps? I’m thinking that he dressed differently than the cowboy of the same era, but would appreciate some info.
