I just finished season 3 of Buffy and will be starting season 4 soon. What I’d like to do is watch it in conjunction with Angel season 1. Can anyone tell me which episodes have crossovers from Buffy to Angel and vice versa. Bonus kudos if you can give me all the crossovers for the remaining seasons of both shows. If I remember correctly most of the crossovers started on Buffy and finished on Angel, but I could be worng.
Okay, let’s see how far I can get before getting beat out by some other Buffyverse fan…
Buffy 403, “The harsh light of day” leads into Angel 103, “Into the dark”, with Spike and Oz appearing in both episodes. They should be taken in that order.
Angel 106, “Bachelor Party”, ends on a reference to Buffy, which leads us into Buffy 108, “Pangs”, and then to Angel 107, “I will remember you”
Buffy 416, “Who are you”, leads to Angel 118, “Five by Five”, on to Angel 119, “Sanctuary”, and Buffy 420, “The Yoko Factor”. (The intervening Buffy episodes don’t affect the angel crossover plot.)
I don’t recall any crossovers in Buffy 5/Angel 2 until the season finales, which should be seen with the Buffy 522 first, then Angel 222
chrisk is correct, except that Buffy 4.16 “Who are you?” is really the second part of a Buffy two-parter that starts with Buffy 4.15, “This Year’s Girl”.
Buffy & Angel were originally shown back to back, so there are some occasional sly crossovers that aren’t as apparent if you’re not watching the series that way.
For instance, the first episode of S.4 of “Buffy” has a scene in which the phone rings at the Summers house, Buffy picks it up and say “Hello?”, but it’s a hang-up. Buffy hangs up, and forgets all about it a moment later. Then, on the first episode of “Angel”, we see an early scene of Angel (still trying to get over Buf) at a public phone & dial a number. We, the audience, hear a female voice say “Hello?” before Angel hangs up, looking slightly freaked.
Of course, Angel is calling Buffy, and is the person who hung up on her - as shown in her own show. But if you’re not watching these shows back to back, it’s not quite so apparent.
In “Fool For Love,” Spike tells Buffy how he killed two slayers; we see flashbacks. (Buffy, Season 5.) That same night, we see some of the same events from a different viewpoint in “Darla.” (Angel, Season 2.)
Not exactly a crossover, but the episodes are definitely linked.
Thanks. I’m going to print the thread and keep it handy. I remember in the last episode of Angel’s 4th season, he gets the amulet which he gives to Buffy in her series finale.
