Buffy (New to the fenomenon)

You think you got it bad, hubby and I bought a region free dvd player (we’re in the U.S.) so we could buy Buffy and Angel dvds (okay and maybe a few other dvds). Amazon.co.uk has seasons 3 and 4 for 55 and 73 pounds, respectively. They’re on the wish list but not quite in the cart yet.

If you’re leaving spoiler free for post-Season 2 (and Angel season 1), stop reading now whilst I share the Druscilla storyline.

Beware, spoilers and proofreading free zone follows (highlight to read)…
At the end of Season 2, Angel wakes Acathla. Spike forges a deal with Buffy to stop Angel if she’ll let him snatch Dru and blow that popsicle stand. Big fight with Angel, Spike steals away with Dru to IIRC South America. Unfortunately for Spikey, making a deal with the Slayer is more than Dru can abide him after the deal so she carries on with other demons and breaks up with our blondy-bear (see Harmony, season 4).

We next meet Dru in Angel season 2. Darla (the elder vamp who sired/turned Angel who in turn sired Dru and was killed in BVS season 1, “Angel”), has been brought back from the dead (her human self, not as a vamp) by those evil lawyers (oxymoron?) Wolfram & Hart to bring down Angel.

Unfortunately, bringing her back human meant she was brought back with the human disease that would’ve killed her (she was a dying prostitute when the Master turned her the first time). Angel is trying to save the human Darla’s soul since that comes with the whole humanity package and it’s starting to ache from all the evil she did along with her slowly dying body.

Instead, Wolfram & Hart break in on them with <SURPRISE!> Druscilla who now has an opportunity to turn she who would be her sire’s sire (grandmama), which she does. So, you follow–Master begat Darla, Darla begat Angel who begat Druscilla who then began Darla a second time…who will eventually do the dirty deed (resulting in no moment of perfect happiness) with Angel resulting in Connor.

Anyway, Dru then hangs for another episode of Angel causing havoc and mayheim – including eating a large part of the Wolfram & Hart staff – while Angel gets deeply depressed and sadistic over Darla dead again and goes after W&H and D&D. Dru burned, literally, by Angel retreats briefly to Sunnydale in another BVS crossover eps (BVS Season 4, maybe 5, to Angel’s Season 2) finding that not only is Spike a lesser vamp because of his truce with the Slayer, he’s now got a chip in his head that causes migraines if he tries to feed, he’s also got a major crush on B. Buffy, Dru, Spike and Harmony have a go and Dru laments even she “can’t help him now,” and she disappears into the night to pop up who knows when on who knows which show.

D’OH! I didn’t know there were spoiler tags. Sorry.

OMG , so I am going to have to buy the Angel series as well to keep up-to-date with who-is-who-and-why in the Buffy-universe ?!?!

I better start saving money.

Peta:
I thought your way of doing it was quite clever.

I’m now owner of all of Buffy and all of Angel. I know this board doesn’t condone illigal things like filesharing, and I’m not prepared to divulge where I got BtVS S.5+6 and Ats S.3.
Let’s just say that it get’s better and better. Some minor things in S.6 were not so good, but on the whole Joss Wheadon & Co. are really breaking new ground with Buffy.

I’d also like to take back som earlier statements about some characters: Buffy is still good, but I totally see why so many rave about Willow. My good, Alyson Hennigan is sexy (and a really like my fems to be a bit on the plump side, så the attraction is not physical.) As Oz said: “You have the sweetest smile.”
Cordy was fun as a bitch, but her part in Angel, where she’s matured … Wow… She’s really something now.

And as an aside: Lorne, the gay, green red-horned crooning demon is fabulous.

Can’t wait for the fall season. I’ll have the new episodes 32 hours before they air in the U.S.
