Bug's Bunny gets a new "hip" look??

I feel we should rastafy him by ten percent.

WB’s Loonatics: Kinda like anime, but without the killing, sex, story arcs, or curious religious symbolism!

Who wants to bet that this ain’t going to last too long?

Anybody else thinking “Poochie”?

Adding a new character is a desperate attempt to boost low ratings! Oh, hi Roy.

Why in holy hell is Bugs black and yellow now??

I wonder if the new XTREME Daffy Duck - probably Deadly Duck now or some crap like that - will be a descendant of Duck Dodgers of the 24th and a half century.

Heh, did nobody notice the Poochie quote above?

Say it ain’t so.

I love this new Buzz Bunny! He’s totally in my face, with 50% more proactivity!

For some reason he reminds me of this rabbit.

Well, I understand it really isn’t our Buggs, but still, he suffers from the same malady many modern cartoon characters do: bad design or Ugly design. In layman’s terms he’s just Fugly.

Oh, well, I’m sure the rest of the cast will be equally repulsive to look at.

Tiny Toon Adventures was made by someone who loved the originals, and it showed. This piece of crap looks like it was made by someone who just wanted to cash in.

Check the link to Jerry Beck’s site in mobo85’s post. They have a Loonatics preview poster that shows some of the other characters.

It ain’t so. Some of us got it.

Waiting for Loony Tunes – Worst. Episode. Ever.

Hear that whirring sound?

It’s Mel Blanc turning over in his grave.

A “hipper” Bugs to appeal to the younger generation, my ass. My brother, who otherwise thinks I’m a total weirdo dork, loves the old school Looney Tunes that I taped for myself way back when they were still showing on Saturday mornings.

Link here.

Ye gods, these characters were definitely designed by a committee.

You can just hear the “artists” running down their market-researched-checklist-of-kewl-character-elements as they drew these critters…

The version of TMNT currently on Fox is much closer to the comics than the first cartoon series was. The turtles and their world were changed for the first cartoon (a lot more comedy, the Shredder was made into a standard cartoon bad guy, etc).

Re Tiny Toons

I agree with Brother Cadafel. Besides that, I can only think of one way in which any of the original Loony Tunes was changed in that series. There was an episode in which Wile E Coyote (super genius) speaks for most of the cartoon. I never got the impression that Speilberg said ‘This sounds like fun, and I have enough money and influence to make it happen.’

Re Baby Loony Tunes

A crappy attempt to make more money. It ripped off the Muppet Babies, but not any of the parts that made the show fun or memorable.

Re Loonatics

The articles admit ‘We did this to make money’. The show will be put together based on focus groups. Episodes will be made using a checklist. It will suck.

I know that corporations exist to make a profit. But, good products start with ‘Ya know what would be fun?’ or ‘I have a really cool idea!’ not ‘How can we reposition ourselves and change our brand image with the target demographic in order to increase market share and reduce third quarter losses?’
It

:smack: That should of course be “I got the impression”

Wile E. often did speak in non-Road Runner cartoons. He and Bugs Bunny would converse as Wile E. was planning to outwit Bugs. In fact, it was Wile E. himself who gave himself the title “Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius.”

When chasing the Road Runner, Wile E. only talked in signs. (“In heaven’s name, what am I doing?”)

Mobo85

How in tarnation could I have forgotten that? I sit corrected.

So Daniel Just how did the Tiny Toons damage the Looney Tunes?

Want to bet that we’ll be told that these new characters have “attitude?”

As if the original Bugs, Daffy, et al. didn’t have “attitude.”

Feh.
