Bullshit fake news from the left

Are you Donald Trump? Because he’s the biggest sf* out there.

Yes, considering how fucking stupid some of these people are.

‘Morning Joe’ Host Says Kellyanne Conway Is Banned
8:37 AM PST 2/15/2017 by Jackie Strause

After Joe Scarborough said Conway is “out of the loop” and books herself on TV to stay relevant, co-host Mika Brzezinski said Trump’s senior adviser is no longer welcome on their MSNBC show.

Kellyanne Conway has lost her credibility and her invitation to appear on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, according to the show’s co-host Mika Brzezinski.

During a segment highlighting the differing messaging between Trump’s senior counselor and White House spokesman Sean Spicer, Brzezinski said she refuses to book Conway on their show because she doesn’t believe in “fake news” and information that isn’t true.

“We know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show,” she said Wednesday morning. “I won’t do it because I don’t believe in fake news or information that isn’t true. Every time I’ve ever seen her on television something’s askew, off or incorrect.”

I will disagree with this. In this day and age anything that pops up on someones facebook, gets passed around on a large scale as truthful is modern day news even if it is not on CNN or Fox. As an example, many Democrats presented this picture as news although it was clearly a fake.

I saw that and my only thought was too fucking late, shitheads. Trump brought ratings, in the same way that it looks like The Mick will be renewed, and all the networks were absolutely giddy riding that train. Now they want to grow one disc of a journalistic spinal column?

All we have is your claim that “many Democrats” presented this picture as news. Your cite makes no such statement. I’ve never seen it before, to the best of my recollection.

And as your cite says, “This may be a funny picture, but even if were real, it would still be just a funny picture.” It’s not fake news in that it doesn’t try to inculcate the reader with false ‘facts.’

Really, is that the best you can do? Gotta up your game, dude.

That’s a 9/11 “Truth” thing, not a Democrat thing.

Probably the biggest thing I seem to be commenting on politically in the last week are the bullshit “many democrats” or “all democrats” claims.

For example, someone on a friend’s FB feed this morning went all nuclear “NO U!!!”, dragged out some obscure nutjob’s left wing claim and then claimed that ALL democrats believed this.

Of course, after both I and the guy whose page it was on stated that we’d never heard of such a thing and didn’t agree, I posted Rick Wile’s claims;

Wiles asserted that “devil-worshiping, Luciferian, demon-possessed maniacs” have formed a “criminal cabal [that is] running this nation and much of the world” that allows them to engage in “child trafficking, child molestation, child rape, [and] child murder.”

And asked if we should assume that ALL Republicans believed this sort of insanity.

Nothing but silence…

I have. When members of the “Truth” Movement tried to use it as evidence that The Pet Goat was upside down.

Dude, wasn’t really trying. It’s just popped into my memory as the first time I saw the phenomenon that a meme getting passed round turned into “news”. And it is anecdotal but a lot of Dems I knew were showing this pic as an authentic picture showing how stupid GW Bush was. I used it as an example since I assumed most people were familiar with the pic/story.

But I’ve seen it out of politics too. I had a dean that would email us 2 or 3 times a week something she got on facebook or emailed like how teenagers were smoking a powerful hybrid of weed called “Blue Spruce” that was giving them seizures and holy shit as teachers we need to keep a lookout for this. Usually took me less than 30 seconds (thanks Snopes) to show her it was a hoax*. So the point I’m raising is if a story is presented as factual and enough people believe it and pass it on as being true, hasn’t it at some point turned into “news”?

*Yet she kept doing it without fact-checking.

People shouldn’t be jealous just because they’re not invited to the cool parties. Besides, after you’ve sacrificed a few kids to Satan it sorta loses its edge.

I think that shows that you knew stupid people who, coincidentally, voted a certain way. Either that or you were wooshed.

Apologies if replying to a week old thread is too far. I’m going ahead because I think I have something interesting to add. YMM, of course, V.

Thinking something is true is not the same thing as thinking it is news. News is information from someone purporting to be credible. Memes are just the Internet equivalent to rumors and gossip. It’s friend of a friend stuff.

It is true that we have a problem where people trust things they read more than just hear, but that’s not the fake news problem. That’s a problem of not adapting to the technology. Most younger people do not make this mistake.

Or, at least, they didn’t until fake news sites started using memes and treating them as factual. And, since, you’ve already seen the meme and are primed for it, you wind up believing them more.

But like the link says, even if it were real, it would still be no more than a funny picture. It’s not trying to spread a falsehood as fact, beyond ‘Bush once was caught holding a book upside down.’

Now you’ve got something. This is the spreading of an alleged fact that isn’t one. And yeah, I see this crap fairly frequently. But this thing is apolitical. (To give it the benefit of the doubt, anyway: bullshit scare stories about drugs are obviously more of a conservative thing than a lefty thing, since enjoying recreational drugs started off as a lefty thing.)

I’ve never seen that upside down goat book pic as anything other than a joke, and I’ve seen it several times.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone claim it was real.

The Left fooled the Right into thinking that the Left thought it was real.

I clicked on the first link and saw Melania’s sign and immediately thought of this:

CPAC attendees seen waving Russian flags

Trump supporters, demonstrating their usual level of savviness, got pranked very nicely. Sad!

Best prank in a long time.

Damn, the liberal side seems to have all the creative talent.

Next you’re gonna tell me that picture of GW eating a kitten is fake too

Nice trolling job! That was great!!!
