Burger Joint Poll : BK, McD, Sonic, or Wendy's

Blasphemy! Nothing can touch Fuddruckers! They have the superior burgers, hot dogs, and onion rings! Nobody else even comes close. And you still pay less for a burger there than you would at a Friday’s/Bennigan’s/Chili’s/T.G.I. McScratchy’s/Uncle Moe’s family-style restaurant, and the burgers are much better at Fuddruckers anyway.

Hardees has recently shot up to #1 on my list. So:

  1. Hardees
  2. Wendy’s
  3. Sonic
  4. BK
  5. McDonald’s

I used to really like McD’s fries, but they changed them, and I don’t really care for them anymore.

Man, arguing politica and religion is less devisive than this. Anyway, the definitive order has to be:

  1. Fuddrucker’s

  2. In 'n Out

  3. Fatburger/Steak and Shake (Both regional…unfortunately, not the same region!)

  4. Sonic

  5. Rally’s

  6. White Castle

  7. Vegetarianism (I refuse to eat at BK, Wendy’s or McD’s except in a dire emergency)

If what I want is a burger, then I vote for BK – I like their burgers better than the rest, bar none. Wendy’s would be second chair, while McD’s just leaves me cold.

Sonic is (was) preferred for their drinks; if I just want a quick soda, slush, or shake, then Sonic all the way. (If they were still close to me, which they are not.)

Fries on the other hand, make me go to McD’s, even if I don’t care much for their burgers. Wendy’s fries are okay, but I hate, hate, HATE BK’s fries. I don’t know what they’ve done to them, but in the past few years, they taste like maggoty oiled cardboard.

Which means the family will end up at (if we go for burgers) Wendy’s, as a suitable compromise.

I do like Fuddruckers, but it’s a bit of a drive, costs more, and isn’t fast, so I don’t really classify it with the others. (The others mentioned are EVERYWHERE.)

I don’t eat a lot of fast food, but here’s my list:

Burgers:

  1. Wendy’s
  2. Jack’s Drive In (Troy, NY)
  3. Checkers
  4. McDonalds
  5. BK (I hate the faux-char taste)

Fries:

  1. Hot Dog Charlie’s (Upstate NY chain–fries are crispy, with the skin on 'em, too!)
  2. Wendy’s
  3. Jacks Drive In
  4. McDonalds (they would have been no. 1 if they hadn’t changed the type of oil years ago)
  5. Burger King (ever since the change, they are last on my list)
