Apparently, the burning of a Canadian flag can only bring bad karma upon those who did the burning.
The Islanders are watching everyone else play hockey right now as they were eliminated by the Leafs. The Islander players should find the people who did the burning and kick their asses for bringing the bad karma upon the team.
Similarly, the U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team used our beloved flag as a floormat in their dressing room when they played our ladies team. We know who won there. In the defense of the American women, they say they never walked on the flag but placed it there to remind themselves who they were playing. It really backfired when the Canadians heard this because all it did was motivate them even more to win the gold medal.
Burning or abusing our flag only seems to bring on bad things, at least in the realm of sports.
