No, he can’t. Nobody can, and that’s that. Kerry’s not as smart as he says he is, but GeeDubya is every bit as thick as Kerry says he is. GeeDubya’s hype is that he is a firm and assertive leader. And he is, but so was Custer. Myself, over my life, I’ve gotten to be thoroughly sick of firm and assertive leaders.

But my motive for this point is to lament a minor mistake, don’t know how, but got off on the wrong track. You guys are talking about lies and mendacity regarding the release of “intelligence” concerning 9/11, whereas what concerns Sen Levin is lies and mendacity regarding the Iraq debacle. A whole different, though related, pile of horseshit.

Many pundits sling jargon or make blithely irrational arguments. Some, however, seem to specialize in twisting the facts to fit their ideology, continually making assertions that are at best unsupported and at worst blatantly false until they–and presumably their readers–come to accept these false tropes as truth. Robert Scheer, a nationally syndicated columnist for the Los Angeles Times, has established himself as the leader of this breed, with some of his worst spin coming since the September 11 attack. Sadly, this is only the latest iteration of a trend that can be seen in Scheer’s columns throughout the year.

You’ll forgive me if I don’t get all worked up about this “coverup” until I see it reported by someone a bit less bat shit crazy.

What’d be better would be if you would show that this info is false. Even liars tell the truth sometimes.

Ahh, the old “prove a negative” ploy. Nice one. How about I turn it back to with “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof”? You know, something a little more compelling than “an (un-named) source told me…”.
