Bush already planning on using Bird Flu as excuse for Military Action in the U.S.

Motherfucking baby-raping absurd.

Hey, DOOBYA, you piece of shit, where were you during Katrina?

Well, military invasion has been the cornerstone of Bush’s foreign policy, with overwhelmingly positive results, so why not give it a shot for domestic policy as well?

Yah, and as long as we’ve got the troops, why not use them for something? Wouldn’t want them to just sit around idle, right?

Yes, all it will take is for a few people to start sneezing in some pocket of political dissent, and GWB will have crack military assassins and a fleet of black helicopters in there to establish a “quarantine”.

We’ll have to add this to ggurl’s list.

So is this his plan to get out of Iraq.

snork

That’s what I’m thinking. Nothing trumps Iraq, except protecting the homeland!

So what now? I am very interested, since I have parakeets and chickens. Are Military Police going to be conducting health inspections of my birds? Or will it be a scorched earth attack on my back yard?

The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 bans the military from participating in police-type activity on U.S. soil.
“The translation of this is martial law in the United States,” - Dr. Irwin Redlener

“But Congress needs to take a look at circumstances that may need to vest the capacity of the president to move beyond that debate. And one such catastrophe or one such challenge could be an avian flu outbreak.” - Bush

Will there be a new Patriot Act for Birds? Will bird owners be whisked off to Gitmo for harboring terrorist ducks and turkeys? Will the Colonel Sanders be the new OBL? Will Coulter be calling all birds traitors? Will Swifties be accusing birds of being chicken? Why do parrots hate America and all that. Give me a break. It’s a bid for more personal power by Bush, in the face of yet another boogieman. If it looks like bullshit and smells like bullshit, it probably is bullshit.

And your rant is about…?

When come back, bring arguement.

I started a thread about this in mpsims.

The rant is that it’s a stupid fucking idea.

Wait, first you say you don’t hate freedom and now you say you’re against martial law? Make up your mind, man!

Nah, Katrina and Rita gave him that shot.

He’ll happily fight till the last drop of upper-lower class seviceman blood.

And why does Bush want to take military action in the U.S.?

Weapons of mass destruction?

Didn’t we hide all of them in Canada?

By an incredible coincidence, Bush Administration officials suddenly begin leaking preliminary research studies showing a high probability of Avian Flu infections in predominantly Democratic areas…

Talk about your misleading thread titles…

Read your own fucking cite, you idiot. He’s asking Congress to change the law, he isn’t “already planning” anything. And guess why he’s doing that: Because assholes like you were bitching that he didn’t send the troops in to NOLA to quell the riots (which, it turns out were mostly bullshit anyway).

John, I don’t think that we “assholes” were overly concerned about quelling the “riots.” We wanted the troops in to bring food, water and medical suplies and to rescue people.

On the other hand, some of us would prefer a plan for the possibility of a flu epidemic or pandemic that doesn’t mention use of the military as a first step. The words police state are not gentle on my mind.

Some of you assholes were. Maybe not you in particular, but others. Just go back and reread the posting in some Katrina threads from a few days after the hurricane hit.

I agree. I’m against changing the Posse Comitatus act in order to make it easier for the prez to use US troops inside the US. I’m dead set against it. But I don’t blame Bush for bringing this up after the shitstorm he took over Katrina. Some of that shitstorm was justified, but much of it was not.
