I am interested in an academic examination of the US/UK war on Iraq.
I keep on having this impression that Bush and Blair and the people in collaboration with them for the war on Iraq, namely, that they are hypocrites.
The word, ‘hypocrite’, is an emotionally loaded one.
But there does not seem to be a more appropriate word to describe them.
I have this impression because I cannot seem to be able to think that they really believe the objectives they set forth in launching the war on Iraq; and they can obtain these objectives best by war.
The objectives set forth are the following:
-
To get rid of the weapons of mass destruction from Saddam;
-
To make the U.S. and U.K. and the world safe from these weapons of mass destruction in the hands of Saddam;
-
To bring about the liberation of the Iraqi people by effecting regime change in Iraq, namely, toppling the government of Saddam.
If they are not hypocrites, then the fear I have is that they are men of extreme naivete and puny intelligence, withal being heads of very powerful states.

I just want to know how others feel, both anti and pro war people in this board, about the hypocrisy or naivete of Bush, Blair, and their collaborators.
Maybe I am the one without experience of and genuine knowledge of man’s motivation and behavior and honesty or dishonesty.
