Bush: how far is too going too far?

I know that many of the people here that like and support President Bush often get tired of accusations that they’re blind to his faults and will accept anything he does. Many of you have said if he went too far, you’d oppose him.

Well, now’s your chance to draw the line. I’m not saying President Bush will actually do any of the following. But if he did, would you support his decision and figure he had good reason? Or would you say, “No, George, this time you’ve gone too far.”

Please mark whichever most closely matchs your personal response to the following possibilities:
1 - Of course I’d support him. I wish he had already done this.
2 - Well, I think we should trust him on this one.
3 - I don’t think it’s our place to judge the man during times like this.
4 - I’m withholding judgement until all the facts are available.
5 - I’m going to wait until I hear what Rush has to say.
6 - I have to admit I’m not 100% comfortable with this.
7 - Damn, I wish Reagan was still running things.
8 - I hear Canada’s a nice place to live
9 - Okay, rjung, I’ll admit it -you were right all along

Well, let’s look at the first one: Declaring war on Iran. Wouldn’t it, like, depend on the reason? I can think of lots of situations where it would be the right thing to do and lots of situation where it would be wrong. The other things on your list are beyond silly.

OTOH, there can’t be any wrong reason to cancel Amierican Idol.

I’d take up arms to make him dictator for life if he cancelled American Idol.

Oh no you don’t! He cancels Idol and he’d be impeached by 343,000 votes!

Headlines: Hillary suspect in Bush assassination.

And that’s what’s going to happen just as soon as we allow text message voting in the House of Representatives.

How many incidents of repeated cannibalism?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Shodan

What a complete moron.

It was Jackson, W.

Trust George to not know that.

I’ve repressed all memories of that movie that didn’t involve Halle Berry’s breasts.

OK, as a fairly moderate Bush supporter, I’ll take your poll.

Let’s keep in mind that pretty much everything on the list is something Congress would have to do, not Bush. If Bush were literally to declare war on another country, he’d put himself on the fast-track to impeachment.

Halle Berry was in a movie about Thomas Jefferson?

Anything that keeps him busy!

Unfortunately, the “literally” part of that applies hardly at all, nowadays.

With this congress? :dubious:
They’d be more likely to respond by voting a constitutional amendment to protect Apple Pies from ‘disrespectful consumption’.

Since I’m listed as one of the options, I feel that listing my votes would be a conflict of interest (hence why I’ll never become a Supreme Court nominee  ).

That said, my rule of thumb for “how far is going too far” would be, “If Dick Cheney likes it, you’re in trouble.”

Blanche, you’re joking, right?

I mean, I’m 99% sure you’re kidding, but I just want to be sure.

Yep, with this Congress. Party loyalty plays second fiddle to protecting your turf from the other branches of gov’t. Look at the stink that was made over the legitimate search of a Congressman’s office earlier this year. Republicans were just as pissed off as the Democrats.
