Bush-Kerry Debate: Part Deux

El-linko, please.

There is no such thing as “partial-birth abortion.”

What is Escaton?

“reasonable ways to help promote a culture of life in America.”

Well, except for that Texas death penalty thing…

Eeeewww, that blonde chick has this fawning look on her face as Bush answers her question.

I’m not sure what your point is. They’re just as alive (but let’s not debate how alive that is. There are too many threads on that already) as a zygote in a woman is at the same stage of development, so where they come from isn’t likely to sway ultraprolife people much. They’re as likely to be pissed at someone for getting rid of them by defrosting them and pouring them down the drain after __ time being abandoned by their “parents” as to do research with them.

Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Bush is emphatically pro-life - until you become 19 and get sent to Iraq to die - by someone who is pro-life !!!

Bush totally realized his mistake in the middle of his sentence. Beautiful.

“You can run, but you can’t hide.”

takes a swig of soda, cuz there’s no alcahol around

Yes, we need laws to protect children until birth. After that, they’re on their own. They don’t need insurance, or fully funded schools, or jobs if they ever graduate.

Is Bush wishy-washy?

Let’s find out!

Sorry. http://atrios.blogspot.com/

“Wrong decisions” Talk about a loaded question!

That’s a rather startling statement. What have we been talking about when we use this phrase?

Wow, this last question is awful. I like the concept, but the whole “name three times”. Ugghh. Sounds like my last job interview.

No, asshole, he voted no a bill which sought to brutalize women by forcing them to carry pregnancies which endangered their health. The federal courts have all agreed that your abortion ban is too overreaching.

Ooooh, yes, Mr. Bush, tell us three times you came to the realization you were wrong. Please.

Good question! (And good on the mods for letting it through!)

It sounds like he’s completely avoiding answering it though.

A-freaking-Men

Kerry made some good points on the abortion question–some points that have needed to be said, btw–but it looks like he blew it. I support a woman’s right to choose but I don’t think the federal government should be paying for it. It’s easy enough to have a policy that money won’t be spent on abortion, but that federal money will not be withheld from agencies that provide pregnancy prevention, i.e. birth control. That would have the perfect chance to invite pro-lifers who don’t want to vote for Bush because for other reasons. I bet there are more than you’d think.

Im’ SOOOO drunk,

God bless straight dope. Debates are much more fun with lush hints of butter, ripe apple and pear thx 2003 Clos du Bois, thx.
