Bush Segway Fun!!!

How’s Sean Hannity gonna blame this on Bill Clinton?
“The Clinton - Gore clutzfest”
:stuck_out_tongue:

**Larry Mudd ** quoted:

Which just goes to show what we’ve known all along, the President is a practical idiot!

He made a Segway fall down?
I thought that was impossible.

Fucking Liberal Segway.

NPR news this (Friday) evening said that some newspapers
carried the “president riding” photo. Some carried the “president falling off” photo. This may be a landmark moment in the history of your paper. Which photo did they show?

But it’s also scary. Our PRESIDENT, the guy in charge of the entire planet, pretty much, doesn’t bother learning how something works before trying to use it?

I can’t believe people are taking an everyday goof off and using it as “evidence” to prove their belief that the president is an idiot. Good grief.

Were you “scared” when the news came out that Bill Clinton didn’t know how to use an ATM the entire time he was in office?

There ya go, SnoopyFan. Please see my post, above (10:59pm).

Actually putting party bias aside, I’m scared at both those facts.

Every president since Jerry Ford has been stuck with some social gaff that the media jumps on and is the meat and potatos of late night comics:

Jerry Ford was a klutz; he couldn’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

Jimmy Carter was a simple country bumpkin and out of his depth in Washington and in international affairs.

Ronald Reagan was senile or asleep for most of his administration.

George H. W. Bush … hrm… actually wasn’t too bad.

Bill Clinton was a womanizer and had the morals of a used-car salesman.

George W. Bush is a dumb hick those family influence enabled him elected.

Like many rumors, there’s a grain of truth to them, but the reality is blown totally out of proportion. They’re also public figures and politicians. I consider it my patriotic duty to laugh at and criticize them.

I remember on Saturday Night Live when Dana Carvey did his impression of Bush Sr. it revolved a lot around the President’s peculiar turns of phrases. (“Wouldn’t be prudent!”)

They also made hay out of that one embarassing incident at that dinner in Japan…

I remember there were also jokes, mainly early on in his presidency, about his eating habits. Another SNL reference: the sketch where he goes to McDonalds and eats everyone’s food. (“Warlords!”) I actually think of it as the funniest bit they ever did about Clinton on that show.

In other words, the President of the US is a… a…

…a GUY.

A shocking discovery indeed. I’ll alert the media. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s right, his habit of speaking in sentence fragments.

Well, that was one incident. Hardly defining, but funny nontheless.

Yeah, I’d forgotten about Clinton’s love of fried food. This is the point, really. Each president over the past 30 years has had some quirk of personality or habit that has been skewed by the media. Dubya’s inability at elocution and mental gynmastics is simply the latest.

SNL also made fun of Bush, Sr. being prescribed THC eyedrops (Dana Carvey’s funniest moment, on SNL, IMHO), and there was a brief flurry of news coverage during the 1992 election campaign, when GHWB didn’t know what a check out scanner at a grocery store was.
