Bush signs $136 billion Corporate tax cut bill

Not to worry - our brutal Nazi overlord moderators ( ) will probably email you about it. If not, don’t sweat it. In case they do decide that a switch is needed, start thinking about another handle.

Very helpful posts, by the way. This is the kind of background info that can be difficult to dredge up.

Is this the bill with the $10Billion dollar bailout for the Tobacco Industry- or is that another?

If you want to change right away, you can send an email to our talented administrator, TubaDiva at TubaDiva@aol.com, with your new request and a bit of explanation (recent thread as a reference). She’s pretty good about requests like that If you’re stuck for a name, you can start up a thread in MPSIMS requesting suggestions from the teeming millions. Personally, I’d go with either TheTaxMan or SnackFoodOfChoice, but hey, it’s up to you.

And welcome aboard, Tax Guy. We can always use more knowlegable experts. Or even just regular guys.

But apparently not more "TaxGuy"s.

Personally, I feel that if you are attached to the handle “Tax Guy” then you should be entitled to keep it or change it as you wish. If “TaxGuy” has a problem with it, then it’s between you two “Guys” to negotiate a settlement.

Otherwise, it’s none of the rest of our business. We’re all smart enough here to distinguish you two Guys.

I hope.

PS - Welcome aboard the board!

Reduction of confusion will help me as much as anyone. I’ve sent in a request for a new handle. Maybe something like 19ForMe. Always liked that song.

DrDeth asked “Is this the bill with the $10Billion dollar bailout for the Tobacco Industry- or is that another?” Haven’t learned to code yet.

I looked at the law to see what it contained. Here is the text:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c108:6:./temp/~c108sSVFXM:e332003:

I don’t know enough about agriculture subsidies to really understand it but I think the law reduces (or eliminates) price supports for tobacco and uses the savings to buy back the tobacco quotas. If true, this seems like a reasonably fair way of eliminating the tobacco programs. Of course, I am out of my area here.
