Bush snubs Canada

It ain’t just Bush.
Rather and Liebermann did the same. Just posted a thread on it. Now, if I could only figure out how to link to it…

I really don’t think it was intentional–Bush and his writers just plain screwed up. I regret that…and I want to thank Canada and its people for their support in all this.

And to show my gratitude, I’ll offer to give Mr Carpenter to any Canadian who will promise to keep him from returning to the US by any means necessary.

Hell no, you can keep him.

Maybe we can trick the Chinese into thinking he’s a spy and they’ll take him.

But I don’t see the Bush speech as intentionally doing that; Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but could it just be that Bush was trying to send a message? A message of Hey, I know G.B. may be a closer, tastier, more vulnerable looking next target, but don’t even THINK of fucking with them because we’re standing right next to them, ok?

Again, maybe I’m reading too much into that, but it certainly seems the kind of thing that would be appropriate to do.
And leaving Canada out was, I think, completeley unintentional, and certainly free from malice.
YMMV.

B.

So who’s snubbing Canada???

And frankly, since a plane that was believed to be hijacked nearly landed in MY lap over all this, let me say this:

:stuck_out_tongue:

And again: :stuck_out_tongue:

The Alaskan governer knew it was no such thing long before we did and did not bother informing us as soon as he got the information (Whitehorse Star, Sept 13,2001). The plane was on the ground before the situation was clarified.

Wouldja guys do us a favor and administer a political smack to this dude?

Venoma, I have been slowly realizing it comes down to one thing. If you can’t find anyone worth voting for, ya gotta run. Like matt_mcl.

Bush is still mad at Rick Mercer.

And Slip, please refer to Canadian military history. We’re a joke till it actually hits the fan. Then we’re one of the best in the world. Refer to Ypres, Vimy Ridge, and the Battle for Britain. The war of 1812 was fought to a standstill, AFAICT. The general that tried to get the world’s attention in time to stop the Rwandan massacre was Canadian.

There’s more, but I’m not really a student of military history. There aren’t many of us, but when somebody finally pisses us off enough to stop hassling each other over what language we use, Bad Things Happen to them.
