I remember hearing that Pres. GW Bush’s twin girl were preemies. Does anyone know the story? How early? Did they have any medical problems?

Actually, most twins are premature and have some health problems, 22 days on average. They also weigh on average 5.5 oz instead of the single-birth average of 7.7 oz.

My twin sons were 8 lbs 5 oz and 7 lbs 6 oz. How about them apples?

We were told at POMBA (Parents Of Multiple Births Association) that the average gestation for twins was 37 weeks (vs. 40 for single births), but that that was not premature in the same way that a single birth baby would be at the same point (I asked to have that point clarified several times, since it didn’t make sense to me that multiple birth babies would mature earlier).
