Bush will drop Cheney & pick Giuliani for VP?

I’ve wondered that too, and been totally perplexed as to how Saddam was cooperating with an anti-Saddam group. If that was Zarqawi’s situation (can you ‘publically’ be treated in a hospita?’), maybe it was to avoid trouble from Al Qaeda? All we can do is guess. It’s certainly not a collaboration or any such thing the Bush administration claimed it was.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

First W will offer the job to John McCain. And if he refuses, Colin POwell.

Either one has sufficient ego to be coaxed into the deal, thinking his opinions, his philosophy will be implemented in term 2.

Of course Bush will ignore either one. Surprise, surprise.

Laugh, it’s ok. But I’ve been thinking this from the moment McCain turned Kerry down.

The guy who said Bush spends money ‘like a drunken sailor?’ Do you realize how much bad blood there is between these two guys? They agree on basically nothing.

Who is apparently retiring as Secretary of State in January, right? No way. I don’t think Powell is a big Bush fan either these days.

Neither of them is that stupid. They’ve seen Bush at work for four years. And where (and why) would Cheney be going?

McCain is travelling with Bush right now on the campaign trail, giving speeches in support of Bush’s re-election.

McCain is also co-chair of the Bush Arizona re-election effort.

I think it would be hilarious if, after the Democrats spent so much time extolling the many virtues of John McCain as VP, he joined the Republican ticket. Just watching the contortions required to cut him down would be fun.

Haven’t seen much evidence of this, either. Powell is certainly mad about the WMD intelligence failures, and he certainly has his differences with some White House officals, but he’s never said anything other than positive things about Bush and the decision to overthrow Saddam.

Sam beat me to it - especially about John McCain recent role as W’s cheerleader.

Bush would so enjoy putting John on the ticket, thereby sticking it up our (Democrats’) asses.

As for Powell…

He can’t resist the spotlight. He should have resigned long before he ever went to the UN with that totally bullshit (his term) information on Itaq’s WMDs, etc.

And do you think Colin could possibly resist being this country’s first Black VP? Who could blame him for that?

Can anyone really imagine McCain accepting a subordinate role, especially to Bush? As for being W’s “cheerleader”, he’s been very vague about details, just reiterating his support statements. When asked his opinions about specific Adminstration actions, especially in Iraq, his contempt has been palpable.

Or can anyone really imagine Cheney picking anyone other than Bush as his running mate?

As for McCain’s accepting a subservient role…

With the presidency as a possibility 4 years hence, do you think John wouldn’t be sorely tempted?

And as far as imagining “Cheney picking anyone other than Bush as his running mate”…I have to imagine this is an accidental transposition - or a Freudian slip.

McCain would be in a better position in 2008 if he *weren’t * associated with the disasters of the Bush Administration, wouldn’t he?

The other remark you ask about was meant exactly as written; nothing Freudianly subconscious about it.

No sarcasm, no irony.

How is it that Cheney so totally controls Bush?

How is it that Cheney so totally controls Bush? Do you see W to be so hopelessly cowed that if the ratings fall into the 30’s (or lower) he won’t cut the cord and look for a more attractive VP?
