Is this not why the trade unions have traditionally voted for Democratic candidates, e.g. those who would support prevailing wage and other aspects of Davis-Bacon? They wouldn’t have voted for Dubya anyway.
I have known a lot of Davis-Bacon employees, and they were all Bush Republicans.
