This is not an anti-Bush post, although some will undoubtedly see it that way, but a comment on the current political ads being aired in support of his candidacy. To put it succinctly – they suck – badly! Granted, I have not been around that long to have seen tons of political ads to have much of a basis for comparison. However, these ads couldn’t be more flat and uninspiring. Maybe seeing them this early makes them particularly annoying, but I don’t think so. I think it’s more likely that they just suck! Each time I hear “I’m George Bush, and I authorized this message,” I’m thinking – you’re kidding right?
Any other opinions about the ads?
Sorry, if this has been done before, but some of us have loss the ability to search .
To be fair, the whole “I’m <Candidate X>, and I approve this message” is apparently a new election campaign law requirement. That lets you know which mud-flinging pieces come from the candidate’s political office, and which ones are from “uncontrolled” forces.
Unfortunately, with a planned $200 million war chest, expect to see a lot more stuff from the Bush campaign this year.
I got news for you folks, those ads are a lot more effecitive then you give them credit for. These ad/political people do their homework. They know what will appeal to those voters who actually get off their asses and vote. If you think for one minute that even though you might think they are lame ads you are sorely naive. This country is still predominately conservative…and for good reasons.
Personally, I’m Republican and very pro-Bush. The O’Reilly Factor, Shaun Hannity, Michael Medved, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage…they hit the nail on the head. I realize this site is left-wing polluted and liberalism, unchecked, will turn this country into a cesspool much like Europe is turning into.
Still predominantly conservative? The last Zogby I saw had Kerry and Bush split evenly at 46% with Nader running 3% and Undecided running 5% That’s hardly “predominantly conservative,” amigo. Cite
It ain’t November, pal. The economy is rebounding and Kerry has a lot of shit he is going to have serious problems defending against. Whether you want to admit it or not, this country IS still predominately conservative. Not everyone is a pansy-ass liberal living in NYC or CA. Ask people living in small towns, on farms, in small businesses (which I am). GB portrays a strong leadership that inspires confidence in people other than unbelievably ignorant supporters/cheerleaders of people like Michael Moore, Al Franken, Hollywood morons, et al.
If you can appreciate what America has then you’d better hope that pussy’s like Kerry and Clinton don’t get elected again. I was both in the USN and Army. The latter as an AH-64 Apache pilot during Desert Storm… Kerry was a SEAL lieutenant but, IMO, he is a traitor.
The majority of this country’s voters, when last asked, voted for that Democratic Party Gore feller, with an additional chunky handful voting for the guy who was running to his left.
You don’t have to be a NYC or Cal resident to be a pansy-ass liberal. You get used to it after awhile. Just fold the petals inwards when you’re hoisting your undies, and tuck the pistils and stamens out of the way so they don’t intrude on your orifices. It gives your farts a nice floral smell.
The thing I don’t get is…if they’re the majority, how are they so oppressed by the liberals? Heck, they control 2, if not all 3, branches of the U.S. government…
I also happen to live in a rather rural area and I know that at least here Bush followers are by far not in the majority… so there goes your “small towns bend over for Bush” theory.
Unbelievably ignorant supporters?
After September 11th the American public became overly patriotic. It didn’t matter that thousands (yes, thousands) of civilians were killed in Afghanistan, as long as American “cheerleaders” (I’ll steal a description from you) supported the military action with their many american flags plastered across their SUV all was well. More recently these American “cheerleaders” have had to swallow a few of their words when a war when their (and I’ll steal another description from you) “ignorance” of the situation caught up to them.
And now I’ll go through your previous posts to exploit your ignorance… Back in 5.
Here you complain about materialism when your all perfect president asked the United States public to go shopping to fight the war on terrorism. You sound confused…
Also in that post was a reference to “the destructive femi-nazism movement”…
Yeah, you sound exactly like the average level headed American. Though you are entitled to your own opinion.
First of all: puss·y n. pl. puss·ies
Secondly, your entire reason for Kerry being a traitor is that you were in the USN and Army? That means… What? Care to enlighten me?
Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a twinky-eating Young Republican admit that Shrub merely “portrays” leadership rather than actually leading. Could it that they’re actually getting more honest, or is this guy’s grip on the English language as tenuous as his idol’s?
Sorry, jmpride62, but it is damn hard in an election year to keep threads like this in IMHO-they are eventually destined for either Great Debates or The BBQ Pit.
Sending this one to The Pit.

A project of the Annenberg Foundation, they seem determined to maintain a non-partisan effort to seperate the compost from the bullshit. Highly recommended.
