Bush's War Czar says the draft is on the table

And even better… the administration should create a “do ask, DO tell!” policy. Deliberately seek out every single gay person they can find, recruit them, sign 'em up, and ship them over to Iraq. It could be all “God’s Will” and “Sodom and Gomorrah” and… and… whatever other nonsense those pinheads mouth the words to.

We’d only need to make a few minor adjustments to a previously very successful recruiting campaign: Uncle Sam wants YOU… wink.

“Rum, sodomy, and the lash! What’s not to love?”

I’m not making the claim that any republican has. It’s just that the argument that no republican in authority would be dumb enough to try something like that just doesn’t hold water with this crew.

It was stupid beyond belief to think that the Iraqis would welcome us with open arms and that the war would pay for itself.

It was stupid beyond belief to think that the conservatives who voted him into the White House would welcome his move for amnesty for illegal aliens (Note that I’m not saying anything about my own opinions on amnesty. I don’t want to hijack the thread.).

And I supposed to believe that the administration responsible for these blunders, now faced with a quagmire in Iraq, a military stretched to the breaking point, and approval ratings in the toilet is going to look at something like the draft and reject it just because it’s a lousy idea? I would believe it with Clinton. I would believe it with Bush Sr. I would even believe it with Carter and Reagan. I do not think we’ve tapped the bottom of Dubya’s stupidity or incompetence, however. I would not be surprised at all if the Republicans seized on this at some time in the future.
