His supporters are STILL attacking her.
Don’t you think months of this leading up to the election makes a difference?

They’re reasonable positions. But in the real world of American politics they’re left wing ideas.
What? Why? Who?
You do realize Russia is involved in a lot of this?
You know what? Sanders wasn’t (and still isn’t) a Democrat. He never was. Why shouldn’t the game be rigged for, you know, the ACTUAL Democratic candidate?
If Sanders wanted to run as a Democrat, he should have been a fucking Democrat.
Yes, but speaking as a Bernie supporter (in '20), this isn’t why he lost, at least IMO. The DNC tried to rig it, but they were incredibly obvious and incompetent, and probably helped Bernie more than they hurt him because of their obvious tilt. Bernie lost because slightly more Democrats preferred Hillary.
Slight tangent:
Is it possible to mathematically back out the effects of superdelegates and work out whether or not Sanders could credibly have won the 2016 Democratic Party nomination in a world without superdelegates? Or are there confounders that make this kind of analysis difficult to impossible?
Sanders legally and per DNC rules ran as a democrat. He met all the criteria and rules made by the DNC to run as a democrat in all 50 states. And he did it twice at least (so not like he found a loophole the one time).
It is not remotely likely that the DNC leaning in for Clinton helped Sanders. That’s why they leaned in for Clinton.

Yes, he was legally allowed to do so. So what? The point is he was not a Democrat so why should he expect Democratic support?
When he ran for president he was, literally, by the rules, a democrat.

This isn’t the pit so i’m just going to bow out of this conversation. Good luck with it.
You can take this to the Pit if you want.
What I said is true. More, it is obviously true. He ran in the democratic primary in all 50 states so he was, by definition, a democrat, per the rules they made.
And by the rules, Hillary won the nomination.
That didn’t stop anyone from bitching about it.
Yeah…and Sanders then backed her candidacy.
Nothing wrong with being unhappy about it.
You’re right, he was perfect. Couldn’t possibly have done better.
But was he a Democrat?
I strongly disagree. An effective and competent DNC definitely could have helped Hillary. The DNC in 2016 was totally incompetent and ineffective. The only thing they did was call attention to their obvious and yet highly incompetent favoritism for Hillary.
What do you think they did that actually helped Hillary?
They helped in in the primary.
And Sanders ran again in 2020. Plenty of time for the DNC to sort their shit out.
How? They certainly tried, but what did they do that actually helped her, at least more than the obvious favoritism which pushed many to resent her?
This was in the primary.
Sanders was doing well at the beginning. Clinton did NOT want a repeat of Obama in 2008.
She won. It worked.
