**Velocity **doesn’t care about Bernie. He just likes to fart in the Democrats’ general direction. Which accounts for the barrages of damp squibs that make up 90% of his posts.
Direct personal insults lacking any further context can be posted in The BBQ Pit.
This is a Warning to limit such posts to that forum.

Let’s see how he does in New York.
They say that if you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere.
At this current point in time, I’m going to say no a gay man can’t make it in the South, and maybe even in some otherwise liberal places.
While I am sure his being gay matters to a few voters I am not convinced that is the thing that will wreck his candidacy.
Him being a closeted republican should kill his candidacy.
I can’t believe that there are a significant number of people who would vote for a Democratic candidate but not if they were gay.
I’m not sure if you’re joking or not. If not, that’s ridiculous.
This isn’t true. He’s been a Democrat his whole life unlike Warren and Sanders.
Possibly some African-Americans, a demographic that votes overwhelmingly Democratic but also is majority Christian and - if I recall correctly - is often more anti-LGBT than other Democratic groups as a whole.
Intereting…I guess all these billionaires are democrats:
- Here Are The Billionaires Backing Pete Buttigieg’s Presidential Campaign
- Mayor Pete’s awkward embrace of billionaires isn’t a moral disagreement with Bernie Sanders, it’s a campaign strategy
- Mayor Pete has taken donations from 40 billionaires — and Bernie Twitter is burying him for it
- Pete Buttigieg tops billionaire donor list
You do know a name can be claimed without being true? Like the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Pete Buttigieg is a Democrat. Certainly he gets donations, $2800 maximum from Democrats, non-affiliated, and future former Republicans.
But, he’s certainly more of a Democrat than a certain finger waggler from VT who has filed senate reelection papers for 2024 as an Independent.
And the “No True Democrat” fallacy rears its head… on two sides at once!
Somebody who is running for the Democratic nomination for President is a Democrat. They may not have always been one; they may have values that are antithetical to many Democarts (OMG Socialist! OMG Independent! OMG Billionaires!). But at the moment, they are both Democrats, and there’s really no point in deciding who is the purer Democrat. Just vote for the one you think is best, and hold your nose and vote for him / her again in November.
Define “democrat.”
Define “liberal.”
There is a lot of “Bernie isn’t a democrat” talk.
Tell us what a democrat is then tell us why Bernie is not one.
Was this directed at me? Was there someplace that I said he is not a Democrat?
Anyone registered Democrat is a Democrat. Anyone running for election for the Democratic party is a Democrat. Maybe they weren’t one last week or won’t be tomorrow, but they are for now.
Meant dalej42. Sorry
