^ If you’re planning on influencing the market in some way, I have to warn you–I’m backing you 100%.
Too late. I’ve already cornered the market on waffle futures.
“It was the the Dukes! It was the Dukes!”
Crap in a hat! Skunked, again!
I’m going after your Snickerses!
How has timing the market worked out for you in the past?
Well, thank you.
But seriously, I don’t really engage in market timing, since I make the substantial majority of my trades with a DCA strategy and hold for the long term.
But I do believe in accelerating that a bit when certain sectors take an unwarranted kick to the nuts.
They no longer make the G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu grip either.
I just signed up for a trading account with CIBC in Canada. I have my eyes on an oil company that I believe will begin to rebound once the price of oil starts to rise.
Yeah!
Happened to text a friend about this stock, basically saying “have my eyes on it, think it’s due for a rebound in the next year or so.”
Get a text message back saying basically “hope you’re right, just bought 100 lots of it on your advice.”
I called him immediately in a panic and basically said, jeez dude please do more research before investing $16,100 than just a text message from your drunkest friend.
Well his due diligence could do with a little work, but then again maybe he’s trusting you did yours? He may have been eyeing the sector for a while and your comment made his mind up, just the extra 1% to make it 51 or 100%.
I remember reading about a guy who bought Facebook when it was in the 40s because it seemed to be "a completely stupid decision’. The markets aren’t rational and sometimes when making a rational decision you play into one of their traps. At least your friend bought into a very good industry, one that will likely outlive him and will be paying nice dividends along the way.
I have bad news for you, waffles don’t have corners!
Time to corner the market on round-slot toasters, for Eggo “waffle-like product.”
BTW, urp I can’t corner urp any more of the urp Snickerses market today. THUD
It’s for weeks like this that I always keep some cash in the accounts. It’s not really timing, just frequent reallocating.
I did buy some Disney for my grandson’s account. A buy order was triggered at $100.50.
