I am the current owner of a 13-year-old Chevy S10. I absolutely love it, especially the 4WD in the winter (I live in Wisconsin). I recently inherited a chunk o’change from my mom and dad’s estates enabling me to put down some cash for a new one, or one with low mileage. I have narrowed my choice down to two: Toyota Tacoma or Chevy Colorado. Anyone on here have any experiences/opinions to share on either? I am not brand loyal. If it makes any difference, I need the back seat to fit a granddaughter and dog, 4WD, stereo (my current truck only has AM/FM) and AC. Maybe other stuff that I am not thinking of right now.
Both are solid choices. I might lean towards the Toyota just from a brand reliability point of view, but it’s a toss-up really. Drive both, make your best deal, either one could be great choice.
I’ll also, although I am not without bias, toss in another option. Now, i make this suggestion not knowing what you need in a truck in terms of hauling. But I will trudge ahead bravely.
A low mileage Honda Ridgeline. An outstanding 4WD system is standard, a REAL back seat is standard, with the slickest fold up option for the rear seats you could ask for. And the bonus is: the trunk. Yes, a truck with a trunk, a truck trunk if you will.
I have a 2008, it’s by far the best truck/utility vehicle I’ve ever owned. Yes, it’s “oddly” styled, but beauty is more than skin deep.
Toyota. GM has too many quality issues. Not sure about their pickups, but many different GM vehicles seem to have too many issues.
Tacoma, no question.
