Buying an e-reader - what should I buy?

I thought there was a thread similar to this, but I can’t find it.

Basically, I’m going to get an e-reader, but I’m not sure what type.
Any advice from posters who own one?

Here’s my thread from earlier in the week.

I’m still looking, and at the moment I like the look of the Cybook Bookeen, based mostly on the price and range of formats it’s compatible with. I may just hold out for this, though, which looks amazing. Unfortunately, not due until 2010. However, it gives some idea of what the next generation of devices will be like.

I never liked the layout or look of the Kindle, but the Kindle DX is a definite improvement. Only available in the US though.

I have a Kindle, as does my wife. We love them.

I have a Kindle too - no complaints. I can make that sucker sing.

Latest trick is a bookmarking service that dumps a website to the Kindle so that you can read it later.

Great topic. I’ve wanted an eReader for months now. I can afford one, but I just can’t justify the price. I’ve read dozens and dozens of reviews, and my conclusion is that the Sony 550 or 700 and Amazon Kindle 2 are the only ones worth buying. But even still, the Sony 550 is $260 and the Kindle 2 is $299. I still think that’s way to expensive for the features it provides. The only reason I might cave in is due to the incredible portability.

Like Galwegian, I’m planning to hold out for the Plastic Logic reader.
