I’ve been reading the WWII era strips from dailyink.
I remember the strip running in the 1960’s. What did Sawyer do after the war? I recall Sweeny and he doing civilian flying but not the circumstances.

Don Markstein’s Toonopedia indicates he did generally adventuring, and then enlisted in the navy at some point.
