By Far, The Coolest Space Geeks on the Planet!

A bunch of high school kids built a full scale mock-up of the space shuttle at their school! They did it against the odds, as well!

Ya know, I’m gonna have to see if I can’t scrape together a couple of bucks and send it to 'em! Gives me hope for the future!

Man, we never had cool stuff like that when I was in high school.

On the one hand, I like it. Those kids are motivated and interested in science and engineering, and they give me some hope for the future.

On the other hand, I hate it. The biggest thing we built in school was a cardboard whaleboat for history class.

Gack! The headline! “School’s science club blasts off into other galaxies”. Clearly, a journalist who never passed science class, or read my web page about this topic specifically.

Oy! The biggest thing we built when I was in school was geodesic dome using plastic sheeting and a fan! Of course, some of the older kids got to build a log cabin, but by the time I made it to high school, they’d quit doing that in history class.
