Yup - honest, straight talking guy. Shame he got stuffed on such a crap reason to resign, but he was a menace to the nation and i am very pleased he has gone.
Oh, and he was a cunt, as mentioned here previously.
The worrying thing is that his “enthusiastic” policies are those of Blair, so it should be no suprise that Clark is currently not backing down on anything that Blunkett championed. See here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/idcards/story/0,15642,1375758,00.html
Im thinking that Blair may be the real problem… not Blunkie
That’s me told then. I’m almost too devastated to type, as I am now bereft of self esteem. But I will have a go…
I really can’t improve on what casdave has said about the way that this government goes about implementing and managing change and policies. I know people who work in education (admin and teachers) and they would tell you almost the same thing, and the same applies across the board.
In the private sector things are a little better but they still want to get their oily paws onto everything here too - with all their directives etc, and europe doesn’t help (and the kiddy fiddler tory has to take some of the blame here).
So obviously I’m glad he’s gone but I’m not sure that Charles Clark is going to be much better.
Anyone see Have I Got News For You tonight? It was hosted by Ronnie Corbett and, predictabley, it made much of Blunketts resignation. For my money, Corbett came up with the best line saying : “Mr Blunkett has resigned in order to spend more time with someone elses family”.
