Has someone come out with a modern computer that fits in a C-64 or Vic-20 case? The power supply was external and with USB and SSDs which weren’t around back then I think it could be done. 
Here’s how PC Gamer did it.
There are also quite a few instances of Raspberry Pi conversions.
