I’ve had it…I’m getting disconnected next week. I can’t take the shear volume of crap that my cable TV service shoves down my throat!
-Even the channels that USED to be good (TDC, TLC)now churn out cheaply made, stupid “documentaries”, laced with commercials!
-I was trying to watch “BRAVEHEART” last night on cable…I literally lost the train of thought because the commercials were so long! By the end of the movie, they were literally sending 5 minutes of the movie for 8 minutes of commercials! This torture is unbelievable!
To top it off, my cable provider just raised the cost of basic service by 12%!
So, I’m going back to local broadcast only…down with cable!!
Oh sure. What are ya tryin’ to do? Put me outta work?
Do what I did over 4 years ago - get a satellite dish.
Join us…
I’m old enough to remember when the appeal of cable TV was that since we were PAYING for it, there wouldn’t BE any commercials.

Recently got AT&T digital with every premium channel. They have been showing Punchline 6 times a week for the past 7 months. They actually had the audacity to put “Kentucky Fried Movie” on pay-per-view. Gosh, the movie’s only 30 years old - sure I’ll pay to see it again. (when pigs fly and carry passengers).
I can’t believe Showtime, HBO et al are getting away with showing the same 15 year old movies over and over with hardly ever anything new worth watching. If they MUST show old movies, how about a few good ones once in a while? Sheesh! Who do I complain to???
I must live in the only place in the United States that has a cable system that is actually better than a satelite system. I used to have DirecTv with everything they had to offer. (Except for Playboy and all the worthless sports channels.) I disconnected the satelite system and went to cable. Why, you ask? Because they had 90% of the channels that the satelite system had and it costs less. $20.00 less a month for the same channels, all digital, and I get local channels without any hassell like having to get a bullshit waver. I even get 45 music channels (not 30 like the satelite). I, for one, won’t go back to satelite any time soon, unless the cable system doubles it’s rates overnight.
As an added advantage, the cable system here is owned by the silent half of Microsoft.

It’s why they bury the cable.
We were sick of Warner’s monopolistic attitude, got a dish and have no regrets.
The alternative, of course, is putting non-stop reruns of the excruciating unfunny Gallagher on comedy central.
I don’t know which is more audacious.
Kinda makes me glad I don’t even own a television set, actually.

Wow! I wouldn’t know how to have sex without a remote in my hand.
…or instructions.
Sorry, lieu. -smile-
If you dislike commercials, buy a VCR and fast forward past them.
Or simply rent Braveheart.
Too bad the cable channels don’t operate like PBS in broadcasting a show. Play the entire show, then at the end list the sponsors, advertise other shows and have comercials to the top of the hours, etc. for the time for the next shows. HBO, Showtime, and all the extra fee channels do this. I am in agreement, if you are paying for the channel, cut out the extreme commercials. These companies have a right to earn some profit, but not ram the ungodly amounts of commercials on us.
For God’s sake, broadcast companies do it because that is how they are to recoup costs. Now we have the cable channels trying to get money from us to pay for the programming and from the traditional broadcast channels, which just makes it hard on the broadcast channels.
Name one show on cable that is really worth the money they get from the advertising, or much less the cable fees.
