Cached Google Pages

I uploaded something to SlideShare.net I didn’t mean to and then deleted it. However, the results are still googleable. If you click on the actual page, it doesn’t load anymore but the cached page does.

Will it stay up there indefinitely? How long before it disappears? It’s pretty embarrassing professionally and I’d rather it go away sooner rather than later!

Thanks in advance!

Google has a page of instructions titled: Removing my own content from Google’s index.

That refers to if it is your website.

Google’s cache is updated at a rate determained by Google. The more popular sites are updated more often.

You’re just gonna have to wait till the next Google update.

Note that maybe, just maybe, archive.org also spidered it so then they’ll be making a copy available (but it takes longer). They also have a system for deletion but same situation as with Google. They also keep copies forever, unlike Google. OTOH, they don’t have a search function so someone has to know the URL to get to it.
