Until the 2000 election politicized the question, I’d never heard anyone suggest that the possibility that the EC might elect a President who lost the popular vote was anything but a flaw.

Now, what time period does that statement make a claim about? That’s right, before the 2000 election.

The only thing about you that aggravates me is the difficulty of communicating with you. And believe me, I’m more than ready to abandon that endeavor, given that it’s singularly unrewarding.

Yes, you probably should. It’s clearly taking a lot out of you. It’s funny, I remembered you as a better poster. In this thread at least, you seem to have entered the Elvis camp–e.g., someone who assumes partisan motives, takes offense at everything, hurls unwarranted insults, insultingly picks pointless nits (your comment about the 2000 election could only be about the period before it and my comment could only be about the period after–BTW, a critical, critical point in context :rolleyes:–right, sure, of course), and ignores specific points that are inconvenient.

Anyway, again, I don’t seem to have the emotion invested in this that you do, so I can’t work up a similar outrage. Sorry.
