Actually, I was thinking more of the H-You-ston versus ‘Who-ston’.
If you’re planning to visit OR-ruh-gun, be careful not to call that beautiful river the Will-ah-METTE, or the locals will know you’re an outsider. The name ain’t French, it’s American Indian, pronounced Will-LAM-met. If you are an outsider the locals won’t want you around very long anyway…especially if your license plate says California. Visit, and they’re friendly. Plan to stay and the natives want you to go away.
