Calling all librarians

This job has been posted for a long time, I just thought I would pass it on to you folks.

Have you got anything in sales?

There is a teller at the new bank our business uses. Two things always cross my mind when I see her. First is librarian, second is dominatrix.

I’ve been a bad boy- speaking above a whisper and randomly putting books back on the shelves.

I’d send it to my librarian friend, but I don’t think she’s interested in moving to Russia.

Am I being whooshed?

This is a real job. I live near St. Pete and I do business at USF once in awhile. I also check their website frequently for job openings. I noticed there were several librarians on the SBMB from the “What is your profession” thread. I just thought I would post the opening here in case anyone was interested. OK, as you were with the yuk yuks. :slight_smile:

I asked a friend to consider it, and he said “Oook.”

But, just to note: when you actually go to the library page you see that they list no current vacancies. Whether the library’s page or the personnel page hasn’t been updated, I don’t know.
But if I’d had the 3 years of library experience, I’d have considered it. Too, if I hadn’t just started a librarian postion last week…I think it’d be frowned on to send out a resume already (and I don’t want to - I’m enjoying the new job!)

I’m a librarian, but personally I’m scared of applying for any position with the line “employment contingent upon funding” line as it means you may be out of a job in a year. Given that the area’s not some desolate hellhole like most library jobs that go begging but an urban area in a (usually) popular state (this month doesn’t see it at its best), that’s probably the reason it’s still vacant.

Thanks for the heads up, incidentally.

The Moderator rings his bell:
::: Ding! Ding! Ding! ::::

We don’t generally permit job postings here, we’re not trying to run an employment service. If you think that you’re in special circumstances that merit an exception to our Guideline, get prior approval from a Moderator before posting.

I don’t see that this offers anything except amusement. I’m closing the thread, I’ll leave it visible because it’s kind of outre and because I’ve got a headache. Two headaches, actually.

Damn, Dex. Must be a bad one. You forgot to close the thread.

OK, sorry about that, just trying to be neighborly. I can see your point about net posting jobs here, we would have 21,342 threads on “How to make a fortune working from home”.

Actually the jobs at USF fill up pretty fast, that’s why I was scratching my head on this one. They usually have some interesting things going on at the marine science lab too.
