I should Pit MCI, but it’s more their loss than mine. I just ported my AT&T landline home phone over to cellular service (also, coincidentally, AT&T) to save about $60/month (I’m shocked that they think landline service is worth what they’re charging!). I had MCI long distance service attached to my home phone, but only really used it for the occasional international calls we make. I had set up an international calling plan with them that cost me about $6/month, but the WS calls were less than $1/minute. I could make these calls from home, or away from home using the 800 number, pin number, etc. Okay, so now I call them up to see what the situation is now that I’ve ported the number from AT&T land to AT&T cell and they tell me the MCI service must be cancelled. Okay, fine, what plan do you have that will allow me to make international long distance calls? Sorry sir, we don’t have one. Wait, what? Isn’t that all your company does is provide long distance service? Yes, but we don’t offer that. Bottom line is that they can’t provide me with the same service I’ve had with them for the last 10 years, that doesn’t require the use of a landline phone, because I don’t have a landline phone. Sheesh! How do they stay in business?
Okay, now for my question (sorry to bore you with my stupid story). What’s the best option for me to call WS (country code 685) from a cell phone? When I Google long distance Western Samoa, I get a long list of vendors I’ve never heard of with no way for me to verify that I’m not being scammed, etc. Any suggestions?
