Calling Dr. Qadgop...STAT

In my daily efforts to mine my tonsils for stones I noticed an oddity on the back of my throat; a whitish lump underneath a thin layer of mucus membrane/tissue.

Since it is the same size and color of a tonsil stone, a.k.a. tonsilolith, and due to the proximal nature of the growth to said tonsil, I figure it IS a stone which somehow missed the exit and got trapped in a detour.

I am a bit hesitant to lance the growth to free the chunck.

IS it a trapped stone?

Shouldn’t you see a doctor about things like this? I’ll put money on the response being “it is most likely this, but you should really see a doctor.”

Kind of like all the law question threads that get answered by lawyers end up with, “it is most likely this, but you shoudl really see a lawyer.”

Do you like the improvements I’ve made to my house?

Well…he IS trying to see a doctor…just without actually seeing one (Qt is a doctor.) Granted, with only a vague desription, I’m not sure what he can tell you, other than ‘go to a doctor in real life.’

You are going to die.

But I just saved a bundle on my car insurance!

As others have said. Go see your own doctor STAT, in person.

I believe I’ve seen others ask him for advice and his response was, “it is probably this, but go see a doctor.”

I don’t doubt that the OP was honestly just seeking a professional opinion, but I believe that QtM would also be aware of potential liabilties if he even answered the question, so would not answer it.

He does provide a lot of interesting information, but I can’t recall it ever being, “please help me with this specific thing,” instead they were responses to “what’s up with this completely hypothetical situation?”

You need to ask your doctor that question.

I don’t think QTM minds answering questions wehn he can and at his discretion, but to call him to report immediately, front and center, for a personal medical question regarding a bump on your tonsils is kinda-sorta pushing the boundaries of good manners (IMO).

Please go see a doctor stat-like legal advice, like medical advice, is best done in person with a properly trained professional.
I’m closing this thread.
