I couldn’t quite recall the handle of a poster here, but I know it was something like that. Been a long time since I saw him. I know he was a designer at Sony.
I was never able to get an interview as a Jr. Designer*, and since I was getting my business degree anyway, I thought I might apply for a producer role. As I understand it, this is essentially a support/management position - not too unlike a movie producer, obviously enough. I wanted some more info about it.
Basically, would it involve things like scheduling, interfacing between finance and design, arranging for resources, looking closely at potential hires for building a team, and so on? Furthermore, do Producers ever mix with Design? I ask because, of course, the two roles used to be ther same job back the days of yore.
*Apparently… they mostly toss resume from people on the other side of the country, even if we might want to move.
