Can a Cyberpowerpc Tracer V battery be replaced?

Just as the title says. I am trying to find out, but I keep getting shunted to Cyberpower UPS devices, which is something else entirely.

You can buy them, so I don’t see why not. Plus I see videos of people taking them apart for other reasons, and the battery appears to be sitting right there.

Thank you!

However, that kind of battery replacement is more akin to laptop surgery than “slide a latch open and pop out the battery cartridge.”

If you’re a regular customer of iFixit.com and not afraid of “No user serviceable components”, yeah, I would characterize that battery as “replaceable”.

FYI, I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot extension cord, but My Beloved is a wizard when it comes to putting a computer right the first time, any time.

It’s good to have a technology surgeon in your circle if you aren’t one yourself.

And yeah, by the standards of common battery replacement processes, that seems one of the better ones. For instance, no futzing around with ungluing the battery from the chassis or a bunch of other components. The hardest part appears to opening the case.

When it comes to laptop surgery, that one doesn’t look too hard. Just based on the picture, I’m guessing the hardest part is getting the back of the laptop off. Even with the right tools, they can still be a pain. But it doesn’t look like anything else has to be removed to access it. Now, trying to get to, say, the mouse, is going to be a lot more work. On my current laptop, I had to take out quite a bit just to get access to the fans and heat sinks to clean them. Replacing the track pad was a whole big thing (and unnecessary, the trackpad was fine, the blown up battery was the problem)

PS, the iFixIt tool kit is well worth buying before trying this. If for no other reason, you’re going to need at least one or two of those tiny screwdriver bits.

CyberPower UPS’s are notorious for early battery failure. The way they trickle charge isn’t right. A replacement battery will die fast. Not well rated.

Save your money. Get a better brand like Tripp-lite or APC. You’ll save money in the long run.

You should maybe read the OP again.

And the title of the thread.
