Can a juror still be removed from the Peterson case?

The jury already rendered it’s verdict and found him guilty and the same jury will decide whether or not he will be sentenced to death. They’re not being seqestured while the lawyers prepare for sentencing (a week). So what happens if one of them violates the judges orders and reads a newspaper, talks to a reporter, etc.? Can they still be removed? If so does the jury continue with eleven members or is another alternate seated? How would they deal with seating an alternate who thinks he’s not guilty? Would the judge have to declare a mistrial or would Scott simple not be able to recieve the death penalty?
