Can a Poll Be Started in IMHO and Moved to Another Forum?

Like, let’s say my poll was “Who should win NL Rookie of the Year?” Since that’s a sports question, it should be in Game Room, but since polls are only allowed in IMHO…

So if a mod moved it, would it lose its poll-ness?

Check the announcement threads at the head of the forums. Polls are now allowed in The Game Room and Cafe Society as well as IMHO (and several polls started in IMHO have been moved to these forums). The polling function is also turned on in ATMB for practice polls.

As far as I know, a poll moved to a forum that did not have the function turned on would no longer accept new votes.

Polls have been enabled in the Game Room and Cafe Society (as has been announced in both places), so you can just start them directly in those forums.

If you start a poll in IMHO and want to move it to a different forum, it can only be moved as an active poll to a forum where polls are enabled. (Those forums are, currently, ATMB [for practicing], IMHO, Cafe Society, and the Game Room. It is not our intention, at this point, to enable them in any other forum.) Thus, if you start a poll in IMHO and want to move it to, say Great Debates, the thread can be moved but the poll – at least as an active poll – can’t, because polling isn’t enabled in GD.

Hope this answers your question.

Or, what Colibri said, in a lot fewer words.

Thanks guys. I don’t really spend much time in CS or in GR, so I haven’t noticed those stickies.

… And, I think/hope that all the polls started in IMHO that are more relevant to Cafe Society or the Game Room have, by now, been moved. If you find a poll that should have been moved but we missed it, please help us out by reporting it.
