I am deciding whether to buy another keyboard which connects via USB, for gaming purposes, although my computer knowledge cannot figure out if it would run with or against my existing keyboard connected via OS/2…
If not, is it possible to buy an adapter or anything else that would alow two keyboards to run in unison.?
First of all, you’re thinking of PS/2. OS/2 is a defunct operating system written by IBM.
I’m not sure why you would want to run the two keyboards simultaneously; also, why do you need a USB keyboard for gaming? What difference is there besides the interface? Perhaps you can clarify what you’re trying to do.
This is correct, and yea, its PS/2, I needed a refresh of memory there…
I love playing games such as NHL2000, (sport games in general) and using the mouse is not an option if you want the best performance… Whenever I play NHL2000 with a friend, I have to use a crappy 2 year old controller as the mouse isnt supported, which isnt worth playing for… and a keyboard would give my oponents, or me, (depending on whos usually using the controller) a fair advantage…
a) You could do this on a Mac, which lets you daisy-chain keyboards (or other devices; you can have multiple mice for instance), but you aren’t on a Mac;
b) But have you tried daisy-chaining more than one USB keyboard? I would think the computer would see and understand signals originating from either of two keyboards on the Universal Serial Bus, regardless of platform; alternatively–
c) You can get a USB-to-ADB adaptor (they work with PCs as well as Macs) and hook one or more ADB keyboards to it and they should work.
