I have had anesthesia for several operations in the last two years. Is there any danger of lasting affects?
Scientific American ran an article a while back on Pumphead, slang for a condition arising from bypass patients having been on a heart-lung machine. However, that does not appear to be related to anesthesia.

Well, I’m told that the risks associated with general anaesthesia include a cumulative component, so that would seem to imply that some kind of long-term changes might be occurring, but I don’t think that suggests any kind of effects that resurface later (except in the context of another session under anaesthetic.
