Okay, so you’re not disparaging the game or the people who play it. Are you really so offended by the argumentation tactics used in support of the game and its players that you must fight them? Because, again, I’m finding your posting style in this thread to be combative. If you don’t have a dog in the original fight (is the game appealing or not), then why are you in here at all, and why are you (apparently) so upset?
I’ve been in that position before – stop into a thread because I find it vaguely interesting, don’t have a strong opinion on either side of a debate but do object to the tactics being used by one side or the other – and it has never worked out well for me. When you get involved in a discussion, particularly if you are being critical of one side, the participants will tend to assume that you are involved in the central theme of the discussion, rather than being some kind of meta-commenter on the process of argumentation.
Also, if you’re not intending to come off as arrogant, you may want to re-examine your posting style. We’re dealing with text, and it’s really hard to tell what you intend, but what I (and apparently others) are reading into your postings is probably not what you want to send: you’re coming off as arrogant and hostile.
